I.    PURPOSE

To establish and collect a reasonable fee for residential treatment services and medications.

II.   POLICY

It is the policy of Tarry House, Inc. to establish and collect a reasonable fee for providing residential mental health treatment services to Summit County Residents.  Tarry House, Inc. is funded by the County of Summit, Alcohol Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board (ADAMHS) via an affiliation agreement with Community Support Services, Inc.  The County of Summit, ADAMHS Board expects residents to pay their share of room, board and rehabilitation services, based on an ability to pay schedule.  Tarry House, Inc., a residential treatment facility, endeavors to keep fees low to afford residents the opportunity to save money to move on to a more independent residence.

III. PROCEDURE

A.     All prospective residents, referral agents, case managers, guardians, and representative payees will be informed of the fees for services. Signatures will be required for establishing fee and medication responsibility. As part of the resident’s admission, the Residential Agreement will be signed by the client or guardian, placed in the client file, with a copy to the client and/or conservator.

B.     Application for SSI, SSDI, and or Disability Relief Services is the responsibility of the primary case management agency, but Tarry House will assist in this process to insure that available entitlements are forthcoming.

C.     Each resident contributes $400.00 per month toward the cost of room, board and residential treatment services.  Collection of fees is based on ability to pay.  Clients receiving Disability Assistance or less than $525.00 per month from SSI, SSDI, employment or another monetary benefit not listed here, may keep $90.00 per month for personal expenses, with the balance of income applied to the monthly fees.  Fees are due and payable upon admission (pro-rated amount) or by the 5th of the current benefit month.

D.     To become more self-sufficient, residents will be assisted, as outlined in the individual’s recovery/treatment plan, to budget the balance of their funds for transportation, clothing, and personal care items. Residents are asked to keep savings account books and check books in the office safe or with their conservator as part of the budgeting process.

E.      Physicians prescribing medications and or medical supplies for residents without health benefits or financial resources will be asked to use central pharmacy provisions.  Tarry House will not assume financial responsibility for client medical expenses and/or medications. This includes the use of emergency transportation.
