I.
Purpose
The Tarry House, Inc. Board of Trustees, Tarry House Staff and volunteers/students will maintain an environment that is responsive to the needs and expectations of the persons served. The environment will increase persons served ability to live independently or in a less restrictive environment. Tarry House’s goal is to promote recovery and a life of dignity, independence, and self-sufficiency.
II.
Policy
It shall be the policy of Tarry House, Inc. to continually solicit input from the persons served.
III.
Procedure
Tarry House, Inc. will:
1) Maintain consumer representation on the Board of Trustees.

Encourage person served representation in established consumer
groups, both in
3) Support each persons served completion of a needs assessment survey at the time of admission and then quarterly. The information provided by the persons served will be used in the development of his/her Individual Recovery Service Plan (IRSP) and will also be considered when skills teaching programs are developed.
4) Actively involve persons served in the initial development and quarterly updates of their IRSP’s.
In addition, Tarry House, Inc. will:
1) Request persons served views of the Tarry House, Inc. program in the House Council Meetings.
2) Request written feedback from persons served on a quarterly basis in the following areas: a) satisfaction with the program, services, food, and environment, and b) effectiveness of services.
3) Solicit written feedback from persons served upon discharge from Tarry House, Inc.
4) Complete a follow-up survey with former persons served two to three months following discharge.
Information provided by persons served will be reviewed and discussed in the Administrative Staff Meetings and the General Staff Meetings. If changes can be implemented, an action plan will be developed and a responsible staff member will be designated. All discussions, along with any action plans developed, will be documented in the meeting minutes. The outcomes of action plans will be reviewed in subsequent Administrative Staff Meetings and/or General Staff Meetings. In addition, all quality improvement information will be shared with Tarry House persons served and interested family members. The Tarry House Annual Management Plan will be shared with interested stakeholders and include input from persons served.
